Mark Dennis Horn

Mark Dennis Horn of Caro, age 62, passed away at his home on Monday, January 29, 2018. Mark was born June 11, 1955 in Detroit, the son of the late Nick Donald Horn & Joyce Ellaine (Erwin) Horn. Born and raised in Detroit, he graduated from Chadsey High School with the class of 1973. Shortly after his graduation, Mark began a forty-two-year career with DTE Energy as a heavy equipment operator. Longing for a quieter life, he moved from Detroit to Caro in 1977, and retired from DTE in 2015. He was united in marriage with the former Debbie McGough on December 28, 1979 in Caro, in a double wedding with his brother. Mark was a member of UWUA Local 223, Tuscola County Conservation Club, and the Tin Can Tourists. He had a passion for building replicas, especially railroading models. He also enjoyed target shooting, listening to music, and tending to his immaculate yard. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Debbie Horn of Caro; two sons, Rob Martin of Newport, Mark Horn and his wife, Kathryn, of Warrensburg, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brendan Martin and Nick Martin, both of Waterford, Mark Horn and Ellie Horn, both of Warrensburg, Missouri; one brother, Brian Horn and his wife, Terri, of Cass City; cousin, Steve Love of Boca Raton, Florida; brothers- and sisters-in law, Dan & Becky McGough of Okeechobee, Florida, Mary & Dan O'Connell of Carleton, Sherrie & Mike Zelipes of Livonia, Pam & Steve Attard of Plymouth; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating.
