Mark A. Mcilhargie

Mark Allen McIlhargie of Stockton, California formerly of Pinnebog, returned home to our Heavenly Father on Friday, December 27, at the age of 57 from a fourteen month long fight with lung cancer.

He was born January 24, 1956 to the late John Edward and Betty (Sternberg) McIlhargie in Bad Axe, and grew up on a farm near Pinnebog with eleven siblings. Shortly after high school (North Huron), at the age of 19, in 1978, he moved to sunny California. There he found the love of his life, Sherry, who became his wife, on April 5, 1979. They both had children from previous marriages, Heidi, Virginia, and Melissa. As their love grew stronger and larger so did their family. Together they had two sons, Steven and Christopher and a few years later adopted Mykala, RJ, and Danny. Now many of his children have children of their own, totaling eight grandchildren.

Also surviving him are three brothers, Eugene (Lisa) McIlhargie of Stockton, CA, Dave (Angy) McIlhargie of Caseville, Ed McIlhargie of Pigeon ; four sister, Susan McIlhargey of Whittemore, Sandy Gosselin of New Baltimore, Ann McIlhargie of Fairfield, CA and Margaret McIlhargie of Fairfield, CA, and sister in law Jackie McIlhargie of Mt. Morris.

Preceding him in death, were four brothers, George, Steve, Charlie and Jim, and two nephews Todd and Adam.

Besides the love for his family Mark had love for his career as a Truck Driver. He was employed at Stidham Trucking, Inc. for the past eight years.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, January 4, in Stockton, California.
