Marleen E. Mellon

Marleen E. Mellon of Caro, age 64, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017 at St. Mary's of Michigan in Saginaw, following an extended illness. Marleen was born August 27, 1952 in Caro, the daughter of the late Hilary and Thelma (Curtis) New. Marleen attended school in Gagetown, and was a 1970 graduate of Caro High School. On June 19, 1975, she was united in marriage with Greg Mellon, and he survives her. She was currently employed at TI Automotive, where she has worked for the past forty-six years. Marleen enjoyed spending time with family and caring for them. She loved gardening, cooking, arts and crafts, and clothing. Marleen was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She is survived by her loving husband of forty-two years, Greg Mellon; two children, Heather Mellon of Caro and Greg Mellon and his wife, Christy, of Texas; four grandchildren, Austin, Collton, Olivia and Ethan Mellon; four sisters, Rosalie Shields of Cass City, Pat Parrish and husband, Gary, of Caro, Sharon Chontos of Detroit, and Sue Fitzpatrick of Detroit. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Fred New; and one sister, Barbara Walters. In keeping with Marleen's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time.
