Marlene “Molly” Agnes Bass, age 81, passed away peacefully Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at Meadow Lane Memory Care in Bad Axe. Molly was born April 24, 1943, the daughter of the late Martin and Marie (Gelnaw) McGee. On August 13, 1966, she married Ronald Bass, their marriage was blessed with fifty-eight years of marriage together. Molly retired in 2001 from St. Kieran Catholic Church in Shelby Twp., as the parish secretary and accountant. She loved to read, do ceramics, grow flowers, numbers, and serve the community she lived in.
Molly is survived by her husband, Ronald Bass of Caseville; her children, Brian Bass of Lapeer, Michelle (Ron) Davis of Millersburg, Michael (Shelley) Bass of Summerville, SC; siblings, Maryanne Kinasz of Oxford, Kathy (Keely Munger) McGee of Fenton; grandchildren, Sarah Davis, Shelby (Cheyne) Stresky, Geneva Bass, Chandler (Aubrey) Bass and Gabrielle (Tyler) Townsend; great-grandchildren, Sylas, Kalum, Wrenley, Baby T; Molly is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her in-laws, Donald and Geneva Bass; her siblings, Martin “Dan” McGee, Edward McGee, Thomas McGee, and Eileen “Idy” McGee; and her grandson, Seth Davis.
Cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Life will be at 12:00pm on Friday, May 2, 2025 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Roch Church in Caseville. A luncheon will be held, followed by the burial of the urn at St. Francis Cemetery in Pigeon. The family will be present to receive visitors on Friday at church from 11:00am until 12:00pm.
