Marlin Dean Herford

Marlin D. Herford, 77, of Pigeon, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023 at home under hospice care.

Marlin was born October 22, 1945 in Bad Axe to the late Elton and Leona (Harding) Herford. In 1963 he graduated from Laker High School. He married Marilyn Mangum on March 23, 1968 in Bad Axe.

Marlin was a passionate lifelong farmer until health complications forced him to retire early. He was a member of Elkton Missionary Church and Michigan Farm Bureau. He loved boating, waterskiing, and spending time on the water with friends and people he cherished. Marlin was mechanically inclined, he enjoyed old cars, tractors, and farm implements.

Marlin is survived by his wife Marilyn; children Matt (Meghann) of Gaylord, Monte (Kathleen) of Hudsonville, and Marla (John) Fox of Pigeon; grandchildren Marshall, Molly, Isaac, Audrey, Quentin, Victoria (Matthew) Jurek, and Christian Fox. He was preceded in death by his brother Leland.

Funeral services will be 11:00am Friday, April 21st at Elkton Missionary Church with Rev. Reggie Courliss officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 Thursday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel in Pigeon.

Memorials may be made to the Elkton Missionary Church or the Thumb Animal Shelter.
