Martha Johnson

Martha Johnson, age 73 years, of Romulus, formerly of Caro, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2008 at her sons Wells Township residence. She was born on October 15, 1934 on the family farm in Wells Township to the late Albert and Mary (Silvernail) Rickwalt. Martha Rickwalt married John L. Johnson on April 24, 1954 in Wayne, Michigan. She was a Vassar High School graduate and attended Eastern Michigan University where she received her Bachelors and Masters Degrees. Until her retirement in 1985, she taught Special Education in the Wayne Westland School District. Her primary interest was her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, John L. Johnson; two children, John B. (Beth Anne) Johnson of Caro, Lynn Marie (Jan) Tollefson of Williamsburg, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Tom (Amy) Gagnon of Caro, Rachel (Shawn) Riedel of Caro, Andrea Wilber of Caro, Bekki (Chris) Serles of Caro, Erika Tollefson of Williamsburg, Ohio, John K. Johnson of Caro, Galen Tollefson of Williamsburg, Ohio, Ryan Tollefson of Williamsburg, Ohio, Kevin Tollefson of Williamsburg, Ohio; seven great-grand-children, Colt Jacobs, Chase Jacobs, Dusty Jacobs, Nate Riedel, Kaelyn Gagnon, Kaia Serles and Alena Riedel; three siblings, Verna Williamson of Creamora, Virginia, Albert (Christina) Rickwalt of Yermo, California and Mary (Bernard) Taylor of Yermo, California; and several nieces and nephews.
