Martha Mcalpine

Martha E. McAlpine of Caro, age 92, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013 at Heritage Hill Assisted Living in Caro. She was born September 27, 1920 in Caro, the daughter of the late Otto and Bessie (Dowling) Montei. She was a 1938 graduate of Caro High School. Martha was united in marriage with Meredith McAlpine on May 9, 1940 in Bowling Green, Ohio. He preceded her in death on November 8, 2000. Martha and Meredith worked alongside each other in their Hydraulic business for forty-two years. Martha is survived by one daughter and her husband, Patricia & Carl Browning; four grandchildren, Michelle Ballard, Brian Browning, David McAlpine and his wife, Cheri, Cynthia Ray and her husband, David; seven great-grandchildren, Nathaniel and his wife, Ashley, Caleb and Johnathan McAlpine, Brandon Riley, Paul Ray, Heather Ray, and Jessica Matlock and her husband, Heath; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Richard McAlpine in 1999; three sisters and two brothers. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2013 at the Caro United Methodist Church with Rev. Gregg Mayberry officiating. Burial will follow at the Indianfields Township Cemetery in Caro. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to St. Jude Childrens Hospital.
