Martin Merlin Doud

Martin M. "Marty" Doud, age 62, of Akron, passed away suddenly at his home on May 21, 2017.

Marty was born September 21, 1954 in Caro, to Nelson and Merlene (Black) Doud. He graduated from Akron-Fairgrove High School in 1972. He married Laura Winter on August 23, 1975, celebrating 41 years of marriage…even though he said it felt like 100. Marty worked for many businesses before being employed at Michigan Sugar Company in Sebewaing in 2000. He was a member of the Caro Moose Lodge, and the Sons of the American Legion in Sebewaing, motorcycling, boating, fishing, Nascar, morel picking, visiting the cabin in Grayling, bonfires, friends and drinks.

Marty is survived by his wife, Laura; children: Christine Reder of Unionville and Tracy (James) Miller of Akron; grandchildren: Gunner Miller, Logan Reder and Lindsey Reder; and brother, Wade Doud of Akron.

Marty is preceded in death by his brother, Bryan Doud; and parents, Nelson and Merlene Doud.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 1-8pm.

The funeral service will be Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Wisner United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin at the church at 10 am until the time of service at 11 am.

The burial will be at Wisner Township Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be given to the family.
