Mary Benda age 83 of Chandler Twp near Caseville died Saturday afternoon, August 8 at Covenant Hospital, Saginaw. Mary had been a resident at Courtney Manor the past two years.
She was born January 6, 1932 in White Pigeon, MI to the late Frank and Katherine (Tomaszewsky) Debrowolsky.
On October 30, 1948, she was united in marriage to Charles R Benda in Pigeon. They made their home on a farm in Chandler Twp by Caseville. Together they farmed and raised three children, Patti Staub of Pigeon, Gregg (Betsy) Benda of Pigeon and Scott Benda of Bad Axe; three grandchildren, whom she was very proud of, Brad and Brandon Zinger of Pigeon and Natalie (Andy) Lysaker of Chicago, IL; also surviving is her sister, Margaret Peruski of Ubly and many in-laws; nieces and nephews.
Mary was an avid gardener and farmer. She had many hobby’s and a passion for cooking and baking.
Preceding her in death were her husband, Charles in 1996 and three siblings, Frank, George and Ann.
In keeping with her wishes there will be no public service at this time. Cremation has taken place and private services will be conducted for the family.
Her cremains will be buried with her husband in Grandlawn Cemetery, Pigeon.
Memorial gifts may be directed to her family.
