Mary Christie

Mary Christie, age 81, passed away suddenly Sunday, March 2, 2008 at Covenant - Cooper Hospital in Saginaw. Mary was born May 3, 1926 in Hoxie, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Ambrose & Mary R. (Soyers) Price. She was united in marriage to Charles Christie on July 1, 1944 in Detroit and he preceded her in death on November 25, 1994. Mary was employed for over thirty years in the Administration Office at the Walbro Corporation in Cass City. She was a member of the Kingston United Methodist Church and the VFW Auxiliary in Kingston and enjoyed traveling. Mary cherished time with her family and was always available to help others. She is survived by her daughter and her husband, Leigh & Gene Anderson of Lapeer; two granddaughters and their husbands, Christine & Mark Laur, Cindy & Howard Haubenstricker; six great-grandchildren, Justin, Doug, Sheldon, Ashley, Jonathan and Renci; a special friend, George Rabaut; and her “adopted son,” Kim LaFond. Mary was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia “Trish” Christie in 2007 and a granddaughter, Heather Anderson in 1990.
