Mary Jo Diffin, age 78, of Owosso, formerly from Gladwin (30 years) and Burt, passed away on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Country Views AFC Home in Owosso. The former Mary Jo Teachout was born on May 25, 1930 at Saginaw to the late Winifred and Margaret (Albert) Teachout. On June 2, 1951 she was united in marriage to Paul Diffin in Angola, Indiana. He preceded her in death on December 3, 2007. While living in Gladwin she was a member of the West Branch Yellow Rocker Square Dance Club and TOPS. She has been a member of the Hockaday Community Church in Gladwin. She is survived by two daughters, Deborah Huber of Caro and Donna Deuster of Owosso; one son Daniel Diffin of Burt; six grandchildren, Michael (Melissa) Huber of Caro, James (Jennifer) Huber of Caro, Crystal (Kumbi) Kambasha of East Lansing, Lacie Graves and Ben Matlock of Owosso, Daniel “DJ” (Nicole) Diffin of Saginaw and Wayne Diffin; her great-grandchildren, Ashley, Haley, Victoria, Allyssa and Jacquelyn; her siblings, Walla Jean Daubert of Saginaw, Jack Teachout of Indianapolis, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William Teachout; a sister-in-law, Alvina Teachout; and a brother-in-law, Bob Daubert. The funeral service will be held at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. in Saginaw on Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Larry Kluck of Hometown Hospice officiating. Burial will be at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Saginaw. There will be no visitation at the Collon Funeral Home. Instead, visitation will be at the Deisler Funeral Home in Saginaw on Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Hometown Hospice, 1330 Imlay City Rd., Lapeer, MI 48446
