Mary Ann Dove

Mary A. Dove, age 93, of St. Clair Shores, formerly of Caseville, died Thursday afternoon, April 21, at Blueridge Care Home in Jackson.

She was born February 5, 1912, in Simsbury, Connecticut and moved to Caseville with her parents the late John and Antonette (Salmonvich) Scepanski in 1919.

She had been employed at the Heasty Hotel in Pigeon for a time before moving to the Detroit area. There she met Vince Montreuil, they were married June 20, 1931 at St Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Pigeon. They continued to live in the Detroit area where she operated Mae's Beauty Shop until 1964 when they returned to Caseville. She opened a shop there for a time before retiring. Vince died July 29, 1970. On December 4, 1971, she was united in marriage to Frank Dove at St. Roch Catholic Church and moved to St. Clair Shores. She was a past member of St. Roch Catholic Church and a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, St. Clair Shores.

Surviving are two brothers, Tony and Frank Scepanski of Caseville, a sister Julie Wyman of FL; two step daughters, Lois Matheson of Iowa and Vivian Apmadoc of Arizonia; adopted daughter Margaret Hall; her brother-in-law, Lloyd Montreuil; two special nieces, Nancy Willenberg and JoAnn Embury and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were two sisters, Anne Mary Kincel (her twin) and Phyllis Cormendy.

A funeral mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 27, at St Roch Catholic Church, Caseville with the Rev. Fr. Kenneth Yaroch, presiding. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary service will be conducted 7:00 PM Tuesday at Champagne Funeral Chapel, Caseville where friends may call from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday and at the church after 10 AM Wednesday.

Memorials may be given to St. Roch Catholic Church.
