Mary L. Gardner

Mary L. Gardner, age 88, of Chandler Twp. died Sunday morning, at the Huron County Medical Care Facility.
She was born May 26, 1920 at the home of her parents, the late Arthur and Bertha (Morley) Matthews in Rubicon Twp.
On April 26, 1947, she was united in marriage to Kenneth Gardner at the RLDS parsonage in Caseville. They moved to Chandler Twp. where they lived and raised their family. Kenneth preceded her in death August 10, 1993.
Mary was a faithful member of the Owendale Community of Christ Church where she had taught Sunday School for many years. She was also a member of the Caseville American Legion Auxiliary and the Caseville Retirement Club.
Surviving are two sons, Jerry (Gloria) Gardner of Abilene, TX, and Don Gardner of Chandler Twp.; her daughter, Wanda Bouverette of Caseville; six grandchildren, Brenda Gardner, Laura (Douglas) Heartly, Aaron Bouverette, Adam (Beth) Bouverette, Angela (Mike) Marhanka and Andrew Bouverette; two great grandchildren, Hunter and Alexander; her sister, Hazel Hamilton of North Carolina and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Tuesday, July 29, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Elder Berniece Abbe will officiate with burial in Verona Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call from 3 to 8 PM today and after 10 AM Tuesday.
Memorials may be given to the Owendale Community in Christ Church or the family.
