Mary Hample

Mary I. Hampel, age 98, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Fisher Convalescent Home in Mayville. She was born on September 18, 1913, the daughter of the late Bruce and Emily (Fineout) Richison in Livingston County, and came to Tuscola County as a child. On September 24, 1932 she was united in marriage with Tyrus W. Hampel in Caro. He preceded her in death on February 17, 2000. For many years she was employed as a beauty operator with Dorothy Jean Parsell in Caro, shops up North and in Florida, in addition to owning her own shop in Mayville. Mary made Raggedy Ann and Andy Dolls, knitting, crocheting, and traveling. She is survived by her brother, Clifford (Betty) Fineout of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; several nieces and nephews and her very good friend, Bonnie Cain. In addition to her husband, Mary was preceded in death by her remaining seven siblings and their spouses. The funeral service and committal will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday November 22, 2011 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Daniel Swab officiating. Burial will be at the Fremont Township Cemetery in Mayville. Visitation will be held at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Tuesday, November 22, 2011 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 2:00 PM.
