Mary Ann Janke

Mary Ann Janke, age 66, of Sebewaing, passed away on Tuesday, April 27, 2021 with her family by her side.

Mary Ann was born June 16, 1954, in Pigeon, to Bill and Marilyn (Schumacher) Diebel. She married Mark Janke on September 6, 1975 at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage.

Mary Ann graduated from Sebewaing High School in 1972. She worked various jobs. She cared for many children in her home, worked for Normans a few years and retired from Mr. Chips after 13 years. Mary Ann was also a member at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Mary Ann loved spending time with her family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, camping with her husband, family and friends, going to her monthly breakfast with her sister, aunt and cousins.

Mary Ann leaves behind her husband, Mark Janke; son, Eric (Tasha) Janke; 2 grandchildren: Alyvia and Mason Janke; sister: Dawn (Dennis) Kundinger; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends.

Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Marilyn Diebel; twin brother, James; and brothers, Gary and Richard; niece, Molly and nephew, Billy.

The family would like to give a special thanks to her caregiver, Casey, A & D Homecare and the whole Compassus Hospice team.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 29, 2021, at Juengel-Mellendorf Funeral Home from 2-8pm.

The funeral service will be Friday, April 30, 2021, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church or the charity of your choice.
