Mary Louella Karle, age 88 of Pigeon, passed away Friday, September 28, 2012 at Deckerville Community Hospital.
Born in Columbus, Ohio on June 2, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Elmer F. and Rosa Bell (Keller) Canter and was a 1943 graduate of Elkton High School. On November 25, 1944 she was united in marriage to Peter Karle, Sr. in Bad Axe. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2000. The couple lived in Pigeon all their married life.
Mary worked at Dufty's Blue Water Inn and the Bella Vista, both in Caseville. She loved embroidery, playing cards and dominoes, and especially fishing. She also enjoyed gardening, and helping her husband build lawn ornaments. She liked camping and grilling good food.
Her survivors include four daughters, Marie (Barry) Rachuba of Bay City, Rose (Harry) Kelly of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Edna (Pat) Adams of Kinde, and Norma (Ted) Jaskowski of Ossineke; two sons, Peter (Ella) Karle, Jr. of Owendale and Don (Kathy) Karle of Caseville; 14 grandchildren: Tim, Michelle, Renee, Holly, Tom, Kristine, Jennifer, Jeff, Patty, Vicky, Wendy, Paul, David, and TJ; 22 great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; a sister, Madge Merick of Bay City; sister-in-law, Elizabeth McLeod of Pigeon; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be private.
