Mary Keena, age 94,of Caseville, passed away peacefully June 11, 2008 at her daughter’s home in Southfield.
Mary was born November 30, 1913 in Bay City to the late Michael and Josepha Andrzejewski. She married Jerome “Jimmie” Keena on June 2, 1934 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Detroit. Jimmie preceded her in death on June 10, 1996.
They moved from their home in the city to Lake Township in September 1975. She was a charter member of the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary #3690, actively involved from the club’s inception in 1976, helping to build it into the successful Eagles it has become. She was also a charter member of the Caseville Retirement Club, a member of the Library Club, K of C Auxiliary, and St. Roch Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, baking, sports, and playing with her cat Buster.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia (Wesley) Hill of Southfield and Alice (Gerald) Wisner of Gowen; grandchildren Debra Chopp, Brian Rosinski, Sandra (Rick) White, Dale (Karen) Wisner, Alan (Anna Marie) Wisner and Glen (Krissy) Wisner; great-grandchildren Brandt and Mitch Chopp, Sara and Matthew (Jennifer) White, and Nicholas, Jenna, Samantha, Austin, Justin, Owen, Adam, and Audrey Wisner; and special niece Carol Wendling.
A Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, June 14th, at St. Roch Catholic Church, with Fr. Kenneth Yaroch presiding. Burial will be in St. Roch Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3-8 PM Friday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and from 10 AM Saturday at the church until the time of Mass. There will be an Eagles Ritual at 6:30 Friday and a Rosary at 7PM.
Memorials may be made to the Caseville Eagles’ John MacDonald Scholarship Fund.
