Mary Beth Klein, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Wife, Aunt, Cousin and Friend, passed away unexpectedly in North Carolina on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Mary Beth was born on May 13, 1971, to Suzanne and Charles (Sonny) W. McGathy in Sebewaing, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her father, her paternal grandparents Charles E and Lillian (Naffien)McGathy of Bay Port, MI and her maternal grandmother Arlene (Martens-McHalpine) Kunisch of Sebewaing, MI. Surviving is her Husband of 35 years, Norman J. Klein, Daughter Alison M. Edler (Brennan), Son Benjamin C. Klein, her mother, Suzanne, her Brother Charles S. McGathy, her Sister, Kim R. Goss (Matthew), her Niece Cassidy Clark (Jackson), Nephew Cody Goss and Granddaughter Charlotte Marie "Charlie" Edler who will forever cherish the memories they shared.
Mary Beth raised her family in Fuquay Varina, NC and grew up in Sebewaing, Michigan, a small, but thriving country town where everyone knew each other. She attended the Lutheran grade school in Sebewaing and the Unionville-Sebewaing Area (USA) high school graduating in 1989. She went on to Northwestern School of Business in Bay City earning an associate's degree in Business Administration.
Her warmth, kindness, and unwavering generosity touched all who had the privilege to know her. Mary Beth will be remembered for her vibrant spirit, her dedication to family, and her passion for helping others.
Mary Beth's legacy lives on in the hearts of those whose lives she enriched. A memorial will be held in Sebewaing, Michigan with the family receiving visitor on July 28, 2026 in the Immanuel Lutheran Great Room from 6pm to 8pm. On July 29, 2026, prior to her church service, the family will again receive friends in the Great Room from 10am until time of service at 11am. The Rev Michael Boyer will preside. A luncheon will be served afterwards at The American Legion in Sebewaing.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in her memory, Immanuel Lutheran Church decorating committee or to the family directly.
