Mary A. Klemmer age 90, of Bad Axe, died Friday evening, December 6, at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe.
She was born May 30, 1923 in Lake Twp. at the home of her parents, the late James and Mary (Stirrett) Yax.
On July 26, 1941, she was united in marriage to Earl E. Klemmer at the Methodist parsonage in Bad Axe. They made their home in Bad Axe where they raised five children.
Mary attended the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church and was a former member of the Pigeon VFW Auxiliary. She loved to cook and bake for her family and friends. She and Earl enjoyed camping, playing cards and dancing to country music, she also loved to play bingo. Earl preceded her in death July 31, 1984.
Surviving are four children, Kenneth (Nancy) Klemmer of Verona, Mary (Charles) Gilbert, Wayne (Lila) Klemmer, and Deb (Rich) Sageman all of Bad Axe; 15 grandchildren,24 great grandchildren; brothers, George Yax of Caro, Jerry (Marion) Yax of Lake Twp., Larry (Pat) Yax of Taylor, Dick (Linda) Yax of Canton and Duane Yax of Romulus, and sisters, Annabel Stolicker of Caseville, Jean McGeachy of Dearborn Heights and Sandy (Ed) Klee of Lincoln Estates, IL; sister-in-law, Arlene Lee of Saginaw and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her son and his wife, Larry and Linda Klemmer and three sisters, Marguerite Herriman, Gladys Reilly and Lucy Ruth.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 11, at the Bad Axe Free Methodist Church. Rev. Jerry Sutton, pastor will officiate with burial in Colfax Twp. Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Tuesday and at the church after 10 AM Wednesday.
