Mary Sue Lapratt

Mary Sue LaPratt of Caro, age 81, passed away on Thursday, November 25, 2021 at McLaren - Bay Region Hospital in Bay City. Sue was born October 10, 1940 in Flint, the daughter of the late Carl & Rose (Driscoll) Towery. She was raised in Flint and attended Atherton High School. On May 31, 1974, Sue was united in marriage with Douglas Lee LaPratt, and the couple cherished forty-seven years together before his death just three months ago. Sue was a member of St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro and liked hunting, quilting, sewing, and crocheting in her earlier years. She also enjoyed a cold beer and making bread for countless people in the community. Left to cherish her memory are her children and their spouses, Mark & Sue Hinman of Davison, Mike & Dorene Towery of Flint, Antoine & Jen LaPratt of Caro, Lisa Marie & Todd Lyons of Swartz Creek; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by three grandchildren, Andrew and Allison LaPratt, and Lindsey (Hinman) Musclow; six siblings, Carl Towery, Pat Carl, Betty Buffa, Bob Towery, Jim Towery, and Vicki Lawrence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at St. Christopher Parish, Sacred Heart Church in Caro with Rev. Christopher Coman officiating. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. A Rosary Service will be held on Monday at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider donations to the family, c/o Antione LaPratt, 205 West Sherman Street, Caro, MI 48723.
