Mary Theresa Marker

Mary Theresa Marker of Unionville, age 77, passed away on Friday, June 22, 2018 at Vadavilla Adult Foster Care in Unionville. Mary was born December 10, 1940 in Detroit, the daughter of the late Michael and Mary Theresa (Ocilka) Kopko. Her family moved to Kingston when she was five and she later graduated from Kingston High School. On August 22, 1964, Mary was united in marriage with Richard Marker at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wilmot. Richard preceded her in death on July 18, 2009. Throughout her life, she was a hard-working farmwife, homemaker, and mother of four children. In the community, she was a faithful member of St. Agatha Parrish, and having worked a number of jobs as a secretary, she served her community as the Elmwood Township Clerk. Mary enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Dan & Carol Marker of Kingston, Doug & Cinamon Marker of Bay Port, Jane & Tim Englehart of Waterford, Tim & Amy Marker of Unionville; fourteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one brother, John & Ruth Kopko of Kingston; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her remaining siblings and their spouses, Michael Kopko, Jr. & Barb, Agnes Brynes & LJ, George Kopko, Frank Kopko, and Joe Kopko. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Our Lady Consolata Parish, St. Agatha Church, Gagetown on Monday, June 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Father Christian Tabberes officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at St. Agatha Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a vigil at 7:30 p.m. and on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
