Mary E. Mcilhargie

July 28, 1927 — April 30, 2013

Mary Ella (Bushey) McIlhargie, 85 of Caseville, passed away Tuesday April 30, at Huron Memorial Medical Center in Bad Axe, Michigan.

She was born July 28, 1927, near Pinnebog at the home of her parents the late Leo and Bernice (Champagne) Bushey. Attended Pinnebog School and graduated from Elkton High School in 1945.
On October 18, 1947, she was united in holy matrimony to Leo C.J. McIlhargie at St. Felix Catholic Church.

Mary was a housewife and loving wife and mother. Who later worked out of the house, putting her cooking skills to good use as the head cook at Caseville Public Schools and the Scenic Golf Course.

She was a life-long member of St. Felix and St. Roch Catholic Church's and active member of their Pray Line. She had a deep and abiding faith that helped sustain her through difficult times. Mary was an avid reader, loved playing Bingo, enjoyed travel, dancing, crocheting, watching CNN, collecting family history and photographs and finding a great bargain at local rummage sales. She was also a member of the St. Felix Altar Society, Caseville Retirement Club and Caseville Eagles, serving as chaplain.
Mary was always very proud of all her children and their accomplishments.

Surviving are her husband Leo, five children, Marsha (Craig) Brown of Grand Blanc, MI, Cyril McIlhargie of Chicago, IL, Sheila McIlhargie of East Jordan, Pamela McIlhargey of Caseville, and Kevin McIlhargie of Canton; two grandchildren, Cullen (Sara) Brown of Seattle, WA, Larkin (Patrick) Brown-Rivett of Mt. Morris, MI and a great granddaughter, Rowan Brown-Rivett; two sisters, Elaine Zielaskowski and Shirley Tibor and six brothers, Don, Pete, Jerry, Dennis, Michael, Joe Bushey.

Preceding her in death was her infant son, Patrick McIlhargie, favorite sister, Patsy Papin and four brothers, John, Alex, Malachy and Russ Bushey.

Public visitation will be conducted at from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, Friday, May 3, Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton. Followed by a private funeral mass at St. Felix Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made in Mary's honor to the Society of the Little Flower (St. Therese of Lisieux) or Michigan Parkinson's Foundation.
