Mary Reta Phillips, 91, of Caseville, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Inova Fairfax Hospital in Fairfax, Virginia.
Mary was born June, 3, 1921 in Lilly, Pennsylvania to the late Charles and Clara (Inman) Mulhearn. She worked at the US Pentagon in Washington DC during World War II. On August 12, 1943 she married Donald Phillips in Lilly, Pennsylvania. Don preceded her in death on November 9, 1994.
They moved to Michigan in September of 1945. She was the retired office manager for Gorman Golf Course. Following her retirement in 1971, they moved to Caseville. She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary, the Caseville Library Club and the Caseville Retirees.
She is survived by her sister Claire Toms of Dumfries, Virginia; nephew Charles Mulhearn and nieces Mary Jenkins and Kathy Forde; and many great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Margaret Scipione, brothers Geogre and Cornelius Mulhearn, and niece Ruby Diamond.
A funeral mass will be at 11:00 am Wednesday, August 1st at St. Roch Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Pare presiding. Burial will be in Caseville Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 pm Tuesday at the Champagne Funeral Chapel of Caseville and one hour prior to mass on Wednesday in church. There will be an Eagles Auxiliary ritual at 5pm Tuesday.
