Mary Kay Ruppert

Mary Kay Ruppert of Caro, age 68, passed away on Monday, May 19, 2014 at McLaren - Lapeer Region Medical Center. Mary was born August 15, 1945 in Caro, the daughter of the late Louis and Louella (Putman) Hollister. On September 7, 1963 she was united in marriage with Allen R. Ruppert at the First Baptist Church in Caro. He preceded her in death on January 10, 2008. Mary was a graduate of Caro High School, and worked as a teacher's aide at Highland Pines School. She enjoyed needlepoint, quilting, reading and collecting teapots. Mary was member of the Caseville Eagles and the Women of the Moose. She is survived by her children, Brian (Julie) Ruppert of Gilbert, Arizona, Barbara Davis of Deford, Ronald (Kathy) Ruppert of Vassar; nine grandchildren and six great- grandchildren; her siblings, David (Helen) Hollister of Skidway Lake, Edward (Janie) Hollister of Akron, Judy Smith of Mayville, Shirley (Frank) Sting of Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was preceded in death by her twins, Denise and Dennis; and a grandchild, Spenser Lagalo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday May 23, 2014 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro with Rev. Michele Hile officiating. Cremation will follow the service with burial at a later date in Wahjamega Cemetery.
