Mary Ellen Steinetz, age 96, of Oak Beach, died Thursday, March 25, 2010 at Cambridge East Nursing Home in Madison Heights.
Mary was born at home in Meade Township on December 17, 1913 to the late Louis and Josephine (Champagne) Mousseau. She lived in the Kinde/Filion area until moving to the Detroit area with her sister Gertrude. She married Adam John Steinetz at St. Jude Catholic Church in Detroit. He preceded her in death in 1972. She lived in the Detroit area until moving to Oak Beach in 1967.
She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church and the Caseville Eagles Auxiliary.
Surviving are her daughters Jacqueline Bens of Harrison Township and Denise (Jeff) Wood of Madison Heights; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; and sister Genevieve O’Neal of Port Austin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, daugther Joan LaRose and infant son Michael, brothers Lawrence, Nelson, Peter and Willard Mousseau and sisters Anastasia Ney, Agnes Thompson, Gertrude Trompics and Amelia Meagher.
A memorial mass will be at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 10th at St. Felix Catholic Church with Rev. Robert Pare presiding. Urn burial will be in the church cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Caseville Eagles.
