Mary Vandecar

Mary Vandecar of Caro, age 70, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018 at her home. Mary was born June 2, 1948 in Bay City, the daughter of the late Ralph and Betty (Keyser) Wark. She was united in marriage with Michael Vandecar on September 17, 1966 at the First Presbyterian Church of Caro. Mary was a homemaker the majority of her life, with the exception of working for a period of time as a nurse's aide at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility in the mid 80's. She also enjoyed fishing, sewing, collecting teddy bears, woodworking, and was a big race fan, being named lady of the year at Dixie Motor Speedway. Mary is survived by her husband, Michael Vandecar of Caro; two children, Brian Vandecar and his wife, Amy, of Birch Run, Rod Vandecar of Akron; eleven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two siblings and their spouses, Pat & Mike Jones of North Carolina, Tom & Peg Wark of Akron; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by one brother, Randy Wark. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro. Burial will follow at the Almer Township Cemetery in Caro.
