Mary Watkins

Mary Watkins, age 89, passed away on December 1, 2009 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on December 15, 1919 in Detroit to the late Stanley and Phyllis (Andrejewski) Tyburski. The former Mary Tyburski married Dorris J. Watkins on December 12, 1941 in Detroit. He preceded her in death in 1995. She had enjoyed her volunteer work with Big Brothers/Big Sisters. Mary loved to play bingo and assisting in the bingo preparation. She was very much involved with her friends. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marlene and Edward Boufflers of Clifford and Cynthia and Joseph Stephens of West Branch; her grandchildren, Debra Boufflers of Marlette and Donna and Don Klingler of Gaylord; five great-grandchildren, James Burke and Victoria Burke of Jeddo, Denisha and Denae Klingler, both of Gaylord, and Matthew Brown of Flint; one sister, Irene Reynolds of Denver, Colorado; her special friend, Hedwig Salgat of Caro; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, James Russo, Jr.; and three sisters, Sally, Connie and Josephine. Cremation has taken place. A private committal service will be held at Indianfields Township Cemetery at a later date. There will be no services at the Collon Funeral Home.
