Mary Lou Watterworth age 87, of Marlette passed away peacefully, Tuesday afternoon, July 26, at Courtney Manor, Bad Axe.

She was born July 3, 1929, in Linden, WI to the late Richard and Viola (Crase) Dietzman.

She met her soon to be husband, Thomas Watterworth, while he was in the service. They married August 31, 1946, in Madison WI and moved to Tom’s home town, Caseville where she and her sister-in-law, Gilda were switchboard operators for General Telephone. They moved to Imlay City in 1959, where Mary Lou was employed at Michigan Milk Producers Assn, then to Davison in 1963. After retiring they moved back to Huron County in 1985. In 2004, they went to live in Marlette to be nearer their daughter.

Mary Lou enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting, board games and playing cards with family and friends.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara (Bill) Gielow of Marlette; brothers-in-law, Glenn (Elaine) Watterworth of Sterling Heights and Bob Watterworth of Venice, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; a grandson, Michael Borromey and two sisters.

Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 PM Friday, July 29, at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton with burial in Caseville Twp. Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11:00 AM until the time of services Friday.
Memorial gifts may be directed to the Hannah Wolfe Retirement Home.
