Maryann Wendling, age 77, of Caseville, died Sunday evening, May 18, at St. Mary’s Hospital, Saginaw.
She was born August 5, 1925, in Gagetown to the late Anthony and Anna (Fila) Ignatowski.
Mary and Michael Wendling were married December 4, 1943, in Detroit. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1981.
She had moved to the Detroit area during her youth and then moved to Caseville in 1991 from Wyandotte to be nearer her family. She was a member of St. Roch Catholic Church, past member of the Eagle Auxiliary and American Legion Auxiliary. Mary loved baking and gardening.
Surviving are one brother, William (Anna) Ignatowski of Caseville; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Leese of CA and Ann Murphy of FL; many nieces, nephews; grandnieces and grandnephews. Preceding her in death were four brothers, Charles, Joseph, Walter and Patrick Ignatowski and three sisters, Catherine Andreski, Stella Marvinetz and Lillian Fetters and her two dogs, Trixey and Buttons.
A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Thursday, May 22, at St. Roch Catholic Church. Fr. Kenneth Yaroch, pastor, will officiate with burial in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Wyandotte.
