MaryEllen Putman, age 90, of Skidway Lake, formerly of Mayville and Caro, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2010 at Tawas St. Joseph Hospital. She was born on October 16, 1920 in Detroit to the late Albert and Edith (St. Clair) Pearsall of Mayville. The former MaryEllen Pearsall was married to Hobart J. Putman on April 3, 1956 in Detroit by her uncle, Rev. Frank Cooley. He preceded her in death on April 27, 1979. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in Skidway Lake and the Eagles in Mayville. She raised two grandchildren for thirteen years, Allen and Ginger Bates. She is survived by her children, Lionel D. (Lois) Daly of Skidway Lake, Dale (Ruth) Putman of North Carolina; Cathleen (Leslie) Bell of Chicago, Illinois; son-in-law, William Harmon of Pigeon; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; step-sons, Delmar, Hobart John and Gary Putman and their wives; two sisters, Doris Ball of Caro and Margaret Barrett of Washington, Michigan. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Ricky Putman and two infant sons; one daughter, Maryellen Sue Harmon; a step-son, Donald Putman; two sisters, Edith (Mike) Orose and Susan Daniels; one brother, Albert (Lila) Pearsall. The funeral service will be held at the Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Dorothy Thon officiating. Burial will be at East Dayton Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Mary Ellen Putman family discretionary fund, c/o Lionel Daly.
