Maryke Ann Weidman

Maryke Ann Weidman of Cass City, age 55, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Covenant Health Care - Cooper in Saginaw. Maryke was born December 11, 1960 in Cass City, the daughter of the late Hessel and Ruth Ann (Graubner) Venema. She was a 1978 graduate of Cass City High School, and received her B.S. degree in 1983 from Calvin College in Grand Rapids. She was united in marriage with Dale A. Weidman on October 15, 1988 at the Colwood Church in Caro and continued her membership at the church for the remainder of her life. Maryke was employed by the Huron Medical Center as a lab tech specialist. Her free time was spent loving her family, baking, sewing and camping. Maryke is survived by her husband, Dale A. Weidman of Cass City; three children, Derek Weidman of Lapeer, Kyle & Megan Weidman of Williamston, Jared Weidman of Grand Rapids; four brothers and their spouses, Stuart & Brenda Venema of Cass City, Stanley & Cindy Venema of Deford, Martin & Lisa Venema of Deford, Robert & Angie Venema of Valdosta, Georgia; two sisters-in-law, Carol & Jack Green of Eaton Rapids, Denise Weidman of Saginaw and one brother-in-law, Neil & Gayle Weidman of Midland. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dirk Venema in 1977. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Colwood Church in Caro with Rev. Dr. Jason Garwood officiating. Burial will follow at the Elkland Township Cemetery in Cass City. The family will be present to receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the Weidman Family Discretionary Fund, c/o Dale A.
