Matthew O. Gaeth

Matthew O. Gaeth, age 23, of Bad Axe died Thursday morning, November 18, from injuries received in an incident while at work.
He was born February 5, 1981, in Bay City to Gerald Gaeth and Jane (Dunckel) Gaeth.
Matt was a 1999 graduate of Laker High School and has been employed at Thumb Tool & Engineering since graduation.
Matt was an energetic young man who was always smiling and ready to have a good time with his friends and family. He enjoyed hunting small game and deer, riding motorcycles and just being in the out of doors.
Surviving are his son, Corbin M. Gaeth; his special friend, Kristine Halifax of Deckerville; his parents, Jane and Brent Schweitzer of Owendale and Gerald Gaeth of Texas; four sisters and their families, Kristi (John) Suber, Chase & Grace of Sebewaing, Misti (Gene) Dombrowski, Alex & Laura of Saginaw, Brandi (Mike) Rankin, Arianah & Kaleb of Essexville and Kim Schweitzer of Pigeon; three brothers, KC Gaeth of Essexville, Nate Schweitzer of Pigeon and Joey Schweitzer of Owendale. Also surviving are his grandmother, Marjorie Dunckel of Sebewaing and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceding him in death were his grand parents, Oland Dunckel, Arnold & Louise Schweitzer and Helen and Ervin Gaeth.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Monday, November 22, at the First Methodist Church of Bad Axe. Rev. Bill Wright, pastor will officiate with burial in Riverside Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 5 to 9 PM Saturday, 2 to 9 PM Sunday and at the church after 10 AM Monday.
Memorials may be given to the family for his son, Corbin.
