Matthew A. Hazard, age 46, of Verona Twp. near Rapson died Saturday evening, February 1, at Huron Medical Center follow a massive heart attack.
He was born January 31, 1968, to Kinsey and Phyllis (Fibranz) Hazard in Bad Axe and grew up in Colfax Twp. Matt was a 1987 graduate of Laker High School. He received his Associates Degree in Civil Engineering from Baker College in 1991. After graduation, he took a position with Osminski’s in Bad Axe, where he worked for 15 years, in 2006, he went to work for Rooney Contracting, where he was currently employed.
Matt was a hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed watching football in his man cave and according to his family, he was an organized hoarder, having all his stuff in its proper place, but most especially he loved spending time with his kids.
Surviving are his Fiancé, Missy Prill; children, Breanna Hazard, Amanda Hazard, Faith Hazard and Travis Badgley all of Bad Axe; his parents, Kinsey and Phyllis Hazard of Bad Axe; sister, Sue (Rob) Klemmer of Bad Axe; God daughter, Stephanie Barker; nieces and nephews, Zoe, Mya, Mason, Trenten, Scarlette, Marshall and Ian, also many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 5, at the Elkton Missionary Church with Rev. Reggie Courless, pastor officiating.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Tuesday and at the church after 10 AM Wednesday.
