Maudie Mae Haag

Maudie Mae Haag , age 79, of Unionville, passed away early December 31, 2021, at Sheffield Bay (assisted living) in Bay City under hospice care.

Maudie was born in Ortonville, Michigan to Ernest and Lavina (Kreh) Furman. She married Larry Gunsell, Sr. in 1957. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1980. She then married Fred Haag in April 1989. Maudie worked hard for her family. She started working for General Cable in Cass city, then worked for Norman's in Sebewaing for many years, then worked for Scheurer Pharmacy for around 15 years, retiring when she was 70 years young. In her spare time she enjoyed crocheting, doing crafts, watching her grandchildren play sports, watching for deer and eating ice cream.

Maudie is survived by her husband, Fred Haag; children: Larry (Judy) Gunsell, Jr. of Sebewaing, Lisa Jo (John) Wesolowski of Sebewaing and Kevin (Chandra) Gunsell of Sebewaing; sister, Alberta MacDonald of Gagetown; and grandchildren: Eric, Shanteran (Kenny), Tanner, Brodie and Makenna.

Maudie is preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Larry, and son, Christopher Gunsell.

Per the family wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
