Mavoureen Heida

Mavoureen F. Heida, age 74, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2012 at Covenant Medical Center - Cooper in Saginaw. Mavoureen was born October 28, 1937 in Dearborn, the daughter of the late Charles L. & Florence M. (Martin) Norris. Following graduation from high school, she attended and graduated from Wayne State University with a B. S. Degree in Education. Later she received a in Special Education endorsement from Eastern Michigan University in 1990. Mavoureen was united in marriage with William R. Heida on September 30, 1961 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Detroit. They moved to the Mayville area from Trenton, Michigan in 1975, and have lived there since. Mavoureen continued to be a substitute teacher in Mayville and surrounding schools for several years. She is a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro and the MEA. During her free time, Mavoureen enjoyed reading, knitting, gardening, canning and working on the computer. Surviving is her husband of over fifty years, William R. Heida; two daughters, one son and their spouses, Colleen MacLachlan of Florida, Catherine & Wallace Kent of Caro, William C. & Jennifer Heida of Mayville; six grandchildren; two sisters, Charlynn & Joseph Glumb of South Lyon, Sharon Ray of Virginia; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro with Rev. Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will follow at the Fremont Township Cemetery in Mayville. The family will receive friends at the Ransford Collon Funeral Home in Caro on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorial contributions to the St. Paul Lutheran Church Building Fund.
