Max Tetil

Max Tetil of Unionville, age 89, passed away on Monday, November 23, 2015 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Community in Caro. He was born April 6, 1926 in Tuscola County, the son of the late William and Bertha (Dalby) Tetil. Max was united in marriage with the former Margaret Elaine Hitsman on October 27, 1951 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2013 after more than sixty-two years of marriage. Max retired as a set-up man for General Motors in Saginaw. He loved to bowl, was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, volunteered for roadside clean-up for over thirty years, and was a lifelong farmer of the family homestead. Max is survived by three children and their spouses, Melissa & Michael Bublitz of Chesaning, Michael Tetil and special friend, Sue Begeman, of Fairgrove, and Miles & Donna Tetil of Reese; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; four sisters, Dora Wiley, Nina Jenson, Elna & Robert Kamrad, and Betty Tetil; one brother, Lennard & Helen Tetil; one brother-in-law, Carl Holmes; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Max was preceded in death by one son, Mark Tetil; one grandson, Wade Tetil; three brothers, Richard, Larry and Walter Tetil; two sisters, Alice Ramlow and Laura Holmes; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hitsman and Barb Tetil; and three brothers-in-law, Ken Wiley, Len Jenson and Ed Ramlow. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 6356 Center Street, Unionville with Rev. Steven Stolarczyk officiating. Burial will follow at the Demorest Cemetery in Akron.
