Maxine Donath

Maxine Ruth Donath, age 83, passed away on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Fisher Senior Care and Rehab Center, Mayville. She was born on May 13, 1927 in Caro to the late Arthur and Katherine (Lockhart) Whittenburg. Maxine Whittenburg married Walter Donath, and he preceded her in death in 2005. She was a graduate of Caro High School. Maxine had been employed as a secretary for Mayville Schools and retired from Lapeer County Health Department. She had attended the Mayville United Methodist Church and was a member of the Mayville VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by three sons, David (Joyce) Donath, Donald Donath and Ronald (Gayle) Donath; her grandchildren, Andrea (Billy) Raymond and Kyle Donath. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her four siblings, Geraldine Smith, Dorothy Dehmel, Frances Seeley and Don Whittenburg; and a daughter-in-law, Laurie Donath in April of 2007. The memorial service will be held at the Mayville United Methodist Church on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dorothy Thon officiating. Burial will be at Fremont Township Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the church on Friday, October 8, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to Mayville United Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice.
