Maxine Ewald

Maxine Ewald, age 77 years, of Caro, passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2006, at Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was born on October 17, 1928 in Almer Township, Tuscola County. Maxine Marie Munger married Alvin C. Ewald on October 18, 1947 in Caro. He preceded her in death on November 10, 1995. She was a Caro High School graduate, and in addition to raising her family, she was employed for a time at the Caro Regional Center as a cook. Maxine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, and in addition to her family, she enjoyed drawing, cooking and her flowers. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the loving care by employees and friends at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility and Southern Care Hospice. She is survived by her children, Darrel Ewald of Millington, Dennis (Dawn) Ewald of Caro, Dean (Joan) Ewald of Caro, Dwain (Tammy) Ewald of Caro; eleven grandchildren and spouses; five great-grandchildren; one special cousin, Robert (Carol) Burse of Seymour, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Alvin, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Darcy Ann Ewald; a daughter-in-law, Connie Ewald ; one sister and one brother, Ireta McCoon and Clifford Munger. The funeral will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Caro on Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Cameron Steele officiating. Burial will be at Almer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Collon Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the St. Paul Lutheran Church scholarship fund. The family was assisted with these arrangements by the Collon Funeral Home.
