Maxine Niebel, age 90 years, of E. Deckerville Rd., Caro, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2005, at her residence in the arms of her loving family and assisted by Heartland Hospice. The former Maxine Banister was born on June 14, 1915, in Caro to Harold and Myrtle (Manke) Banister. Maxine attended Caro High School and on September 9, 1934, she was married to Stanley Niebel. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1981. Maxine was a homemaker and mother, as well as a longtime member of the Caro United Methodist Church. She enjoyed feeding and watching birds, fishing and bowling in her younger years. Maxine is survived by her son and his wife, Fred and Janice Niebel of Caro; as well as six grandchildren and their spouses; and 15 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Jo Anne Spaulding, who died in August of 1966. The funeral service will be held: AT: Collon Funeral Home ON: Tuesday. August 30, 2005, at 7:00 p.m. WITH: Rev. Duane Miller, Caro United Methodist Church, Officiating. Cremation will follow the service and the cremains will be interred in the Almer Township Cemetery. Visitation will be: AT: Collon Funeral Home ON: Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until time of service at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Caro United Methodist Church or Heartland Hospice.
