Maxine L. Rieck passed away peacefully on her eighty-fourth birthday Sunday, October 5, 2008 at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility, surrounded by the love of her family. Maxine was born in 1924, the daughter of the late Guy & Ethel (Parsell) Petiprin and was a lifelong area resident. She was united in marriage with Clinton H. Rieck on January 23, 1943 and graduated from Caro High School later that same year. Clinton preceded her in death on July 17, 1983. Maxine worked for many years as a bookkeeper at Riecks Auto Parts in Kingston and in her earlier years at the Tuscola County Medical Care Facility. She was an active member of the Kingston Wesleyan Church for many years and thoroughly enjoyed spending her winters in Florida. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and also enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Maxine is survived by two children, Dennis (Charlotte) Rieck of Caro and Debra (Larry) Barrons of Deford; seven grandchildren, Michelle (Bryan) Campbell, Kim (Bill) Fox, Sherri (Chad) Bennett, Beth (Doug) Lagos, Amy Rieck, Brook (Brad) Pocock and Brent Barrons & Jodi Hammond; three sisters, Glenna Pryor of Caro, Norma Jeffrey of Bay City, Genevieve Ruppal of Akron; one daughter-in-law, Sandy Rieck of Caro and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one son, Roger Rieck on April 11, 1982.
