Maxine Anderson Roehrs, age 92 of Sun City Center, Florida (formerly of Pigeon, Michigan) passed away peacefully on March 21, 2012 at home.
She was born in Pewamo, Michigan on February 28, 1920, the daughter of the late James & Reva Waigle. On January 24, 1941 she was united in marriage to Russel C. Anderson in Bowling Green, Ohio. He predeceased her on October 10, 1996. She was then united in marriage to Irvin Roehrs on June 15, 2002 in Pigeon, Michigan.
Maxine graduated in 1938 from Pigeon High School. She worked at Waigle Canning Company as a bookkeeper and later with her husband in his State Farm Insurance office for 26 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Pigeon and also attended the United Methodist Church in Sun City Center, Florida. She had many hobbies which included: golfing, antiquing, sewing and playing cards.
In addition to her husband, Irvin, her survivors include a daughter, Sally (Michael Deeb) Dittman, Sun City Center, Florida; three sons and daughters-in-law: Gary (Dena) Anderson, Cass City, Danny (Marsha) Anderson, Rockford, and David (Renee') Anderson, Bay Port; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren: and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Elaine Williams, and two brothers, Phil and George Waigle.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 25, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church, Pigeon, Michigan. Rev John Britt, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Grandlawn Cemetery, Winsor Township.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Pigeon, Michigan, the Sun City Center United Methodist Church, or to the hospice of your choice.
Visitation will be at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service
