Maxine R. Walsh

Maxine R. Walsh, age 79 of Pigeon died Monday evening, August 29, at Bay Regional Medical Center, Bay City.

She was born July 29, 1932 in Chandler Twp. to the late Edward and Viola (Damm) Elftman.
On January 22, 1949, she was united in marriage to Paul D. Walsh at St. Felix Catholic Church, Pinnebog. They made their home in Chandler and Lake Townships until 1972, when the moved to Pigeon.

Maxine was co-owner of Walsh Packing, Pigeon from 1969 to 1986 and worked as a dental assistant with Dr. Eichler in Caseville for 26 years and with Dr. Rogers, Pigeon for 5 years retiring in 2000.
She was a member of St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church and Altar Society. Maxine was a very active member and had been the church organist for many years, playing as recently as May of this year when her health began to fail. She had also played at St. Felix, Cross Lutheran and other churches when needed. Maxine was an avid Tiger fan even staying up til 2:00 AM to watch a game on the west coast.

Surviving are her husband of 62 years, Paul; five children, Mike (Patsy) Walsh of Caseville, Beth (Tim) Kraft of Roscommon, Vicki (John) Huff of Essexville, Pat (Pam) Walsh of St. Johns and Brian (Kelli) Walsh of Pigeon; eleven grandchildren, Jami, Scott, Kim, Jayne, Joe, Jessica, Carolyn, Daniel, Jacky, Ben, and Nick; four great grandchildren, Emalee, Alex, Brady and Landon; special friends, Ron and Vinnie Lich of Saginaw and her little dog, Missy.
Preceding her in death was her stepmother, Meta (Licht) Elftman.

A funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery.
Friends may call at the Champagne Funeral Chapel, Elkton from 2 to 9 PM Thursday and at the church after 10 AM Friday.
