Maxine Whetstone

Maxine E. Whetstone, age 89 years, of Cass City, formerly of Caro, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at Tendercare of Cass City. She was born on December 27, 1915, in Caro. The former Maxine Bills married Howard Whetstone on July 3, 1933, in Caro. He preceded her in death on December 3, 1994. The Whetstones moved to Saginaw from Caro in 1956 and returned to Caro in 1975. Maxine was a homemaker and enjoyed her family and home. She enjoyed crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. Mrs. Whetstone had attended the Caro Assembly of God Church. Maxine is survived by two nieces, Karen (Richard) Hofmeister of Caro and Betty (George) Dickerson of Westland; several great-nieces and great-nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Maxine was preceded in death by two sisters and one brother, Evelyn Sharrard, Thelma Berry and Leland Bills. The funeral will be held at the Collon Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Arnold Burger officiating. Burial will follow at Indianfields Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials may be made to the Caro Assembly of God Church.
