May A. Bachman

May A. Bachman, age 94, of Sebewaing, a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, went to be with her Lord on Friday, April 13, 2012.

May was born in Prescott, MI to the late Thomas and Arvilla (Bolster) Pillsbury on July 16, 1917. She was united in marriage to Philip Bachman, Jr. at St. Paul Lutheran church in Linkville, MI on November 7, 1942, by the Reverend Walter Rutkoysky. Philip predeceased her on October 23, 1978.

May was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church in Sebewaing. She volunteered to help in the church office doing bulletins for 25 years. She also belonged to the Ladies Aid, Mary Martha Guild and Lutheran Women's Missionary League. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 293 and the USA Senior Citizens. She enjoyed being with her family and playing cards and bingo with her friends.

May is survived by her son, Philip (Sandra) Bachman of Fort Myers, Florida; her daughter, Shirley (James) Simmet of Sebewaing, Michigan. She is the proud grandmother of 2 and great grandmother of 5, who she loved very much: Dave and Heather Simmet and their children: Zachary, Sarah and Joshua of Grosse Pointe Park, Michigan and Gina and John Booth and their children: Ian and Kate of Isanti, Minnesota. Also surviving is her sister, Marion Mihalic and brother, Thomas (Maria) Pillsbury, both of Saginaw, Michigan.

She is predeceased by her grandson, Patrick Simmet and great granddaughter, Melody Booth. Four sisters: infant, Cecil Pillsbury, Clara Oronc, Sarah Mihalic and Lorna Becker. Also predeceased by 4 sister-in-laws: Katherine hanke, Emma Stark, Selma Schultz and Mabel Gremel, 8 brothers-in-law, 3 nieces and 5 nephews.

Visitation will be Monday, April 16, 2012 at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing from 2-8pm.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at the church at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Burial will take place at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sebewaing.

Memorial donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church – General Fund.
