Melanie A. Nast

Melanie A. Nast, age 58, of Lapeer, passed away Sunday, May 30, 2021, at McLaren Hospital - Lapeer Region.

Melanie was born July 6, 1962, to Gerald and Peggy (Cook) Deering. She graduated from Lakers High School in Pigeon in 1980. On August 15, 1981, she married Patrick H. Nast at St. Peters Lutheran Church in Bach. She enjoyed playing and watching softball, fishing with Patrick, playing euchre, playing internet games, watching birds and being with her grandchildren.

Melanie is survived by her husband, Patrick of Lapeer; daughter, Cheryl Nast of Lapeer; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Nast and Justin Huett; mother, Peggy (Richard) Kuhl of Bay Port; sister, Debbie Strieter of Sebewaing; brother, Aaron Deering of Chattanooga, TN; and nieces and nephews.

Melanie was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Deering, and her in-laws: Herman and Dorothy Nast.

A memorial visitation and service is planned for Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 1pm until the time of service at 4pm. Rev. Al Eastman will be officiating.

Memorial donations may be given to the family c/o Patrick Nast.
