Melvin C. Riess

Melvin C. Riess, age 76, of Frankenmuth and Sebewaing, passed away Friday, October 1, 2021, at Scheurer Hospital.

Melvin was born in Saginaw County on August 23, 1945, to Harold and Margaret (Spengler) Riess. He graduated from Frankenmuth High School in 1963. Melvin married Elizabeth Denner on July 30, 1977 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. He retired from Universal Engineering (TSD) in Frankenmuth. He was a member of the Frankenmuth Conservation Club and Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing.

Melvin is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; sisters: Sharon (Russ) Van Patten, Audrey (Manny) Bottine and Judy (Ron) Bickel; and many nieces and nephews.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marilyn Patrick.

Funeral Services for Melvin will be held Monday, October 4, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am. Burial will be private at the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Outreach or the CTK Scholarship Fund.
