Melvin Clare Volz

Melvin Clare Volz, age 77, of Sebewaing, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.

Melvin was born February 15, 1943, in Bad Axe, the son of Clare and Lena (Schneider) Volz. After graduating from high school and some trade schooling, he went to work as a tool and die maker for Delphi/Saginaw Steering Gear. He was very active at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing, where he served on many boards, including over 9 years as an Elder. He was active with the Boy Scouts, as a Big Brother Big Sister volunteer, and was active in many other clubs and organizations. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Melvin is survived by his siblings: Marilyn Sylvester, Wallace Volz and Dale (Lisa) Volz' niece, Marlene (Steve) Forbes; great nieces: Megan (Matt) Franklin and Kendra Walker; and great great nieces: Madalyn and Emma Franklin.

Melvin is preceded in death by his parents, Clare and Lena Volz; nephew, Clare George Sylvester; and brother-in-law, George Arthur Sylvester.

Visitation will be Friday, July 17, 2020, at Juengel & Mellendorf Funeral Home in Sebewaing, from 3-8pm. Due to Covid-19 mandates, only 10 people will be allowed into the funeral home at a time and face masks are required unless you have health issues making you unable to wear one.

A memorial service will be Saturday, July 18, 2020, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sebewaing. Visitation will begin at 10am until the time of service at 11am.

Memorial donations may be given to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
