Meta W. Jackson

Meta W. Jackson of Caro, age 89, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Covenant Health Care – Cooper in Saginaw. Meta was born March 13, 1935 in North Branch, the daughter of the late Louis and Henrietta (Otherson) Trisch. She graduated from Caro High School with the class of 1952 and went on to study at North Eastern School of Commerce, graduating in 1953. Meta married the love of her life, Walter L. Jackson on December 19, 1953. Walter preceded Meta in death on October 9, 1991. Their marriage had been blessed with nearly thirty-eight years, four children, and many cherished memories. Meta was an excellent homemaker, always making sure her children and grandchildren were well cared for. She worked at Rohlfs Eggs for many years, picking, gathering, and grading thousands of eggs. Meta was an election inspector at Juniata Township for sixty years, never missing an election. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and a Farm Bureau member. Meta dedicated eighty years to participating in 4H and the Tuscola County Fair, contributing in various capacities. She was an avid bowler; her passion and skill for bowling led to her induction into the hall of fame. Until recently, she maintained a schedule of bowling four nights a week. Meta enjoyed keeping busy with activities such as bingo, knitting, tending to her flowers, and watching her beloved hummingbirds. She eagerly anticipated their return this year. Above all else, Meta loved her family; she has left a legacy of love and affection for generations to come.

Meta is survived by her children, Bonnie Carolan, Neil & Jo Ann Jackson, Gale & Lisa Jackson, and Myron Jackson; grandchildren, Mickey & Erin Carolan, Tammy & Eric Kolenda, Cameron Jackson, Blake Jackson, Colleen & Matt Russell, Karmen & DuWayne Loney, Lynette (fiancé, Kyle Reid) Jackson, Adrianna (Nate Hall) Jackson, and Adam Jackson; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Carson, Elloree, Brooks, Myra, Fern, Margot, Kelvin, Gloria, and Eden; brother, Lou & Cheryl Trisch; sister-in-law, Beverly Trisch; and many nieces and nephews.
