Michael J. Contway

Michael J. Contway, 75, of Bay Port, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at Brian’s House in Essexville.

Mike was born December 2, 1949 in Detroit to the late Leo and Edith (Doree) Contway. In 1968 he graduated from Clarenceville High School in Livonia and attended Schoolcraft College.  He married Janet Ford on October 27, 1979 in Livonia.

Mike retired in 2017 from Universal Data/PICS as a salesman.  He was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish and Port Hope Sportsmen.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Mike is survived by his loving wife Janet; children Scott (Chelsea) of White Lake and Lauren (Matt) Murawski of Essexville; grandchildren Weston, William, Wade, Acadia, Eden and Everett; sisters Kathy Krupansky and Cheryl (Richard) White.

A funeral mass will be at 11:00am Monday, February 10th at St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville with Fr. Robert Pare presiding.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Visitation will begin at 10am Monday and continue until the time of the mass.  Champagne Funeral Chapel is handling the arrangements.
