Michael John Guzik

August 4, 1952 — August 1, 2025

Michael John Guzik, age 72, formerly of Caseville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 1, 2025. Born on August 4, 1952, in Detroit, Michigan, Michael was the only son of the late Stanley and Bertha (Mattson) Guzik. A proud graduate of Pershing High School in Detroit (Class of 1970), he went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in criminal science from Wayne State University. Michael dedicated his career to public service, working as a police officer for the city of Pleasant Ridge until his retirement in 2005.

Following his retirement, Michael became a valued member and employee of Scenic Golf and Country Club in Pigeon, where he continued to stay active and engaged with the community.

He was a longtime member of the Caseville Fraternal Order of Eagles #3690 and the Knights of Columbus. Michael married Susan in 1991, and the two shared over 34 years of love and companionship. They enjoyed their summers on Caseville Beach and became snowbirds down in Holiday, Florida. She survives him.

Michael’s first love was the world of softball and baseball. Whether he was playing on the field or attending a game with family and friends, the sport brought him immense joy. Beyond the diamond, Michael developed a passion for bowling, achieving an extraordinary milestone at just 16 years old when he bowled his first perfect 300 game. This achievement was the start of a remarkable bowling career, one that would see him roll a total of four perfect games, a testament to his dedication and skill.

Michael also found pleasure in golf and had a deep appreciation for music, often sharing dances with Susan to their favorite tunes. However, his greatest joy was always his family. A proud and loving Dad, Pops, and Papa, Michael cherished every moment with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for his generous spirit and infectious sense of humor, he was the heart of every gathering, always willing to go the extra mile for those he loved. Michael was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Susan; sons, Michael "Mickey" (Lisa) Guzik of Chesterfield Township, Mark (Jenna) Guzik of Roseville, and David (Stephanie) Adams of Galesburg; granddaughters, Alicia, Emma, Nora, Leia and Clara; great-grandchildren, Brayden and Scarlett; and his brother-in-law, Frank Croskey, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. Michael was preceded in death by his daughter, Crystal Adams; sisters Janice Croskey and Joanne Stevens; and nephew Michael Croskey.

In keeping with Michael's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Champagne Funeral Chapel, 7356 W. Michigan Ave., Pigeon, MI, 48755 with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow at the Caseville Eagles. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or the American Heart Association.
